Things Happen The Way They’re Meant To.
Man! November got away from me!!! Life was really happening and as a result, my film release was delayed.
But I truly believe there are no mistakes, as all the hustling and bustling I had to do to create this film allowed me to reflect on the year.
My initial plan was to finish a film that I shot last year. I thought, ”This will be easy!” I mean, I had already done a rough cut of the film. And part of the year’s goal was to complete unfinished projects...no brainer!!!
The problem came in when I didn’t touch a hard drive until the 27th and found out that the one hard drive the project may be on, was broken.
Needless to say, I had to come up with something new, and FAST! So after toiling with a few ideas, I decided to do a BTS/bloopers film, specifically with a focus on what I’m like as a director on set.
Initially, I was going to compile footage from as many films as I could find, but I settled on footage from projects I’ve worked on this year. It became an intentional way to reflect on the work I’ve done, but more than that, the people I’ve connected with. It really brought me a lot of joy to make this film. And although there’s nothing inherently special about it, it’s a pleasant reminder of the importance of connection and creating moments with others.
I’m so very grateful for all the people I’ve been able to work with this year; everyone who contributed to this film challenge in some way. No words would ever be adequate enough to express my gratitude and love for the people I got to collaborate with.
I’m honored to be a part of an amazing community of artists.
With all that being said, I hope this short brings you some laughter and some joy. I hope it sparks in you, good memories and good vibes.
Thank you for watching.
